Abigail Zimmerman of Mayor Hahn's Office gave a report on Operation Healthy Neighborhood (OHN):
During the period from April 1 - June 30, Pico (between La Brea and Sierra Bonita) is designated as a "hot spot" for the city to clean up dilapidated buildings, enforce code, fix broken windows, and target complaints associated with autobody shops. DWP is now becoming involved in Pico Corridor to improve water and power issues. They may be including Pico in a "Watershed Protection Program" which
provides federal assistance for environmental issues. DWP contacts: John Dorsey & Steve Pedersen (hopefully they will attend next
PRP meeting). Abigail circulated forms for residents, property owners and business owners to report issues that OPH can address, and asked that anyone contact her if they have questions.

The TNI representative was unable to attend, so David D. passed out sample photos of the trash can and benches that are being proposed to the city. We discussed a system to manage emptying the trash on a regular basis (i.e. getting commercial businesses to help out, seeking any city services, etc.)

Debra Grobman, Kathy Marshall and Marty Bruinsma are working on a Business Outreach kit to inform business owners about PRP, including a description of the project and how they can get involved.

Alma Stent updated us on the variance request and pending hearing related to an autobody shop on Pico. More info is available here.

Enss Mitchell announced that The Comedy Union is opening for business on March 14, 2002! He also shared the design of the facade which hopefully will be done in the next few months.
